Shawn Costello

Shawn Costello is the Director of Golf at Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club in Jupiter, FL.  Shawn Costello is a second-generation PGA Professional, whose father is an award winning CNY PGA Hall of Fame member who spent three decades as the former Head Professional and Golf Coach at Cornell.  Shawn followed in his path and became the first Professional in the PGA of America to successfully complete every advanced certification offered, and is one of less than twenty PGA Master Professional’s in Executive Management.  He is a past Director on the South Florida PGA Board of Directors and has also served as the South Florida PGA Shawn Costello PGA Southeast Chapter Awards Chairman and Member Outreach Chair.  Additionally, he also was the co-chair of the Education Committee for the Southeast Chapter of the South Florida PGA. 

Shawn’s career has included upward movement in roles and responsibilities at Platinum Clubs of America and Board Room Magazine Distinguished Clubs of the World including The Old Course at Broken Sound Club, BallenIsles Country Club, St. Andrews Country Club, Boca Grove Golf & Tennis Club, and most recently at Kenwood Country Club in Cincinnati, OH. 

Shawn’s proven track record of driving high member satisfaction, developing unique programming, and creating an exceptional experience while

advancing his staff has been recognized by the PGA of America and other industry organizations including the Club+Resort Business (Top 100 Private Golf Shop in America – #6 overall in 2021, and the AGM (Association of Golf Merchandiser’s).

Shawn is a past recipient of the PGA Professional Development Award recipient for the South Florida PGA Southeast Chapter, awarded by his peers.    

Shawn CostelloShawn Costello PGA is also a talented player having earned a Golf Week top 100 ranked player in the world, the Golfer of the Year award recipient and former #1 ranked junior player in Mexico, as well as the International Junior Masters Stroke Play Champion and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Champion.

His playing acumen also combines with his unique ability to connect with individuals of all levels to teach the game of golf.  He has not only spent his life playing and learning the game but has devoted countless hours to learning to teach the game of golf from PGA Hall of Fame Instructor Bob Toski and has collaborated with other Golf Digest top 50 teachers in the world.  Shawn has coached World Golf Hall of Fame member Tom Kite and PGA Tour winner Joey Sindelar.  

Shawn Costello is also an advocate in his community and started a philanthropic partnership with the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital which established a relationship with the South Florida PGA and the hospital.

Outside of his professional commitments, Shawn enjoys giving back and spending time with his family, and following his favorite sports teams.
