At Snowmass Club in Aspen, Colorado, Jordan Spieth decided to take up a leisurely round away from the COVID-19 chaos. What he didn’t expect was to be the subject of the property manager’s recurring prank…

Shane Smith, property manager of Snowmass Club, is known for being a jokester out on the course.  When Jordan Spieth, 11-time PGA Tour winner came by for a casual round, Smith decided to play his usual prank.  At the 12th hole, he picked up Spieth’s ball and dropped it in the hole.  When Spieth drove his cart up to the green, he couldn’t believe what he saw.  He was ecstatic!  His wife even joined in on the celebration, which was when Smith realized the joke had gone a bit too far…

When the property manager fessed up to the prank, Spieth was a good sport.  But that isn’t to say the golf pro wasn’t disappointed.  He said that the stunt took him “… from the mountaintop way down to the valley.”  Nonetheless, Spieth introduced himself and chatted up with Smith (who, of course, admitted he already knew who he was).
